River Cleanup Event – April 27th

Our River Our Responsibility CutJoin with the Namekagon River Partnership on Saturday, April 27th for our second annual Namekagon River cleanup event.

We are celebrating the river and National Park Week with our friends at the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway.

Last year’s event was very successful. The volunteers had a good time, and the river benefited greatly. Thanks again:  http://namekagon.org/?m=201204

Our meeting place will be the Hayward Landing (Highway 27 near the DNR Ranger Station) at 8:00am.  A river map can be downloaded here (requires Adobe Reader): http://namekagon.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Middle-Namekagon-River-Map.pdf

We are looking for volunteers to help with logistics as well as the actual cleanup.  You may be able to help us by driving cleanup volunteers to and from the work sites (i.e., put-in and take-out points).  To volunteer, please call the Hayward Fly Fishing Company at (715) 634-8149.  The cleanup will again focus on four Namekagon River sections:

  • Hayward Landing to Stinnett Landing (drift boat will put in at West River Landing)
  • Stinnett Landing to North Springbrook Landing
  • North Springbrook Landing to Earl Landing
  • Earl Landing to Trego Landing
